Oklahoma Trout Unlimited Chapter #420 & Tulsa FlyFishers

In conjunction with the national Trout Unlimited Headwaters Youth Education Initiative, Scott Hood has coordinated two "Summer on the Fly" programs for local area youth.

These programs have graduated over 21 U-15 kids, and with them came Moms and Dads and camp Counselors... future TU Members and fly fishers.  =====================================================================================

The first (July 19th, 2017) is the Camp Fire Camp Fly Fishing Clinic

The second ( July 22nd, 2017 ) program for ages 12 - 15 is a Learn to Fly Fish class sponsored by Jenks Community Education program.   Class limited to 30 attendees.

Do you know a 12 to 15 year old boy or girl that wants to learn how to fly fish? Do you want to learn with them? This program, known as SUMMER ON THE FLY, is designed to do just that. To teach a kid and a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle how to fly fish.     All children are welcome and may certainly attend without a family participant.   Sign-ups are now open on the Jenks Community Education web site:

Cost is just $10 per attendee. All the equipment will be supplied and everyone will learn the basics of fly casting, hands on, fly fishing knots and see how flies are tied. This is a one day clinic to be held on Saturday, July 22 at the Jenks High School Aquatics center on the Jenks High School Campus. Each family attending will receive a free one-year membership in Trout Unlimited.     The program is hosted by members of the Oklahoma Chapter of Trout Unlimited.
